Details
Bilstein is well-known for their shocks and suspension systems. Their coilovers suspension systems come in different versions. The first is the Bilstein BTS Tuning System (B12). This system is non-adjustable and comes with a set of four progressive-rated lowering springs mated to specially valved struts/shocks. Their second model is the Bilstein PSS System (B14) which is a height adjustable coil over system. These have an aggressive shock/strut valving, and allow users to adjust the height of the vehicle. Their most advanced suspension system is the Bilstein B16 PSS9 / PSS10 System. Many BMW and Porsche enthusiasts track their vehicles with this system. The B16 PSS9 / PSS10 system allows users to adjust their ride height and the shock/strut dampening from soft to stiff. Bilstein also offers the Bilstein Electronic Ridecontrol unit. This electronic unit allows for the user to adjust the damping of the coil over system by simply pushing a button.
Bilstein performance suspension systems carry over the benefits from their shock/strut lineup. All suspension systems have monotube shocks that are designed to dissipate heat. This will prevent wear and increase the life of the shocks/struts. The shock absorbers are also designed to use the minimal amount of independent internal parts which results in a reduction of part wear.
In addition to their shock construction the Bilstein suspension systems also include the Triple-C Technology. Triple-C Technology is a three step coating that is included on all Bilstein suspension systems. The first coating consists of a special zinc alloy to ensure excellent adhesion to the base material and also has corrosion protection. The second coating transforms the zinc layer into a sealed homogenous smooth surface. The final coating is the top coat that provides long term protection against mechanical wear and corrosion.
